LEVI MEMBER: Center for People with Disabilities (CPWD)
The mission of the Center for People with Disabilities (CPWD) is to work in partnership with people to obtain and maintain choices for independent living by promoting self-determination, self-respect and equal opportunity. CPWD is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency in existence since 1977.
Personnel
The CPWD office in Longmont has two full-time and one part-time employees. Bilingual services are available.  CPWD has physical offices in Longmont, Broomfield, North Metro and Boulder.
Education
Classes are held for people who wish to learn independent living skills, including people who are transitioning from custodial care into the community. CPWD also offers the following courses: Self Advocacy, Systems Advocacy, and Overview of the Disability Determination Process for SSA and an Overview of Local Resources for People with Disabilities.
Direct Services
CPWD personnel work with people on achieving their goals towards independent living in their local communities.
Financial
The services of CPWD are free to their clients.
Support
CPWD has Peer Support Services. This is one of the four core services of the Center for Independent Living. CPWD serves the geographical jurisdiction of Boulder, Adams, Jefferson, Gilpin, and Broomfield Counties.
